Confirmation at Saint Peters!
One8 is the Confirmation Preparation Program used at St. Peter’s along with the Life Teen program on Sunday evenings. These programs together cover an array of important teachings of the Catholic Church, all while meeting the guidelines for preparation for Confirmation developed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Requirements:
Saint Peter’s requests that youth be in at least tenth grade and have a minimum of two years of immediate preparation in the faith.

Students who choose to be candidates for Confirmation must attend Life Teen, be enrolled at a Catholic parochial school, or be home-schooled for their academic education. While Life Teen is only mandatory for public school candidates, it is highly suggested for all candidates to attend, as this brings these candidates into community with the greater parish.

To Register for Confirmation please use our printable form. Return the form to the Parish Office, or email a copy to Cat, the youth minister. Cat Imholte: (phone) 301-898-5111 x17 (email) cimholte@stpeter-libertytown.org

Expectations:
All candidates are required to submit necessary paperwork, are expected to attend a Confirmation Retreat, complete a service project that took a minimum of twenty hours, and attend/participate in five religious devotional experiences during their preparation.

Confirmation Sponsors
Candidates for Confirmation do not go through the process alone. In addition to their parents, the primary catechists in their children’s faith lives, there is the One8 CORE, and the candidates’ sponsors. Sponsors should play a big part in walking with the candidate, not only towards the Sacrament of Confirmation, but in the years that follow. For this reason, we encourage the candidate to select their sponsor as early as possible, preferably by the start of their 9th grade year, so that the shared faith journey together might begin. All candidates and their sponsors are asked to attend a Candidate and Sponsor Meeting held in December each year. The meeting is mandatory for all 9th and 10th grade candidates along with their sponsors are asked to attend.
